New Year, Same Vibes, Embracing Ease, and Underdrive

By: Lisa Hurley

Happy New Year!

Yes, I am unabashedly operating fully on CP time and posting this just before the buzzer on January 29th , but it's still January, so Happy New Year it is! Wishing you and yours all good things. It's hard to believe that January is almost over! Time is really flying by.*

On Embracing Ease

So I don’t do New Year’s resolutions, but I do believe in focus words, so I took some time at the end of last year (aka the year that almost ended me 😩) to reflect on what I wanted this year to feel like. I came up with what I’m calling my life compass.

My north star is alignment. Alignment with the Most High. Alignment within myself. Alignment with the right people. Vitally. Important.

In the south (aka my back) is safety. Safe people, environments, and experiences. Having the knowledge that the Universe and my circle have my back in all ways and at all times. Feeling protected.

Joy to the east, cause it’s so important to be happy. Wealth to the west, because we’re living in a matrix that requires coin as a means of exchange.

And at the center: ease.

For me, this is what it’s all about. Embracing ease in all aspects of life. Internally. Externally. At home. At work. Walking the path of least resistance. Choosing peace.

The goal is to do as much as you can to eliminate friction, disharmony, and struggle from your life. Being super-busy and stressed with your stomach constantly in knots does not make your life more meaningful. A relaxed, easeful life is a sign of inner wealth.

When you’re at ease; when you’re right within, everything else in life feels better.

Embrace ease.

On Celebrating Wins

January (even late January, lol) is the perfect time to look back and reflect on the year that just ended. When I cast my mind back to last January, just…WOW. I was just at the discussion/ideation phase of what became The Great Exhale. What a year it has been.

It was what I call my best/worst year ever. It almost ended me. That is not an exaggeration.

But this is not the post where I want to dwell on that. Instead, I want to focus on the progress I have made as a newly minted solopreneur. Because despite the trials, there were lots of triumphs too. I want to focus on the wins and accomplishments because there have been many. This is what keeps me going when the times get tough. Here are my top 10 highlights:

  1. Honored on The G List - Gamechangers: Introverts to Watch in 2024

  2. Grew the TGE LinkedIn page to 15K+ followers

  3. Raised $50K+ in pre-seed funding 2 months

  4. Got listed on the Fifteen Percent Pledge site

  5. Filed the TGE Trademark with the USPTO

  6. Got a great writeup on Peoples Pepublik

  7. Led the corporate brand refresh project

  8. Won 2 Muse Awards for the rebrand

  9. Got featured in Instock by pocstock

  10. Launched the TGE store

Of course, with so many positives to celebrate, gratitude comes to mind. There is so much to be thankful for. I can't list everyone - that would take way too long - but I will give my Mom a special shout out for being so supportive. 💚 I tend to be generous with the words of affirmation, so I have privately thanked every single person who has assisted, encouraged, and supported me in any way. Naturally a huge thanks goes out to my sistas in the TGE community...nothing but love for you all. 💚

On The Beauty of Underdrive

*P.S. New Year or not, I’m still on the same vibe, standing firm on my soft life soapbox. So even though the year is going at warp speed, I’m continuing to preach the gospel of slow living (hence why I did not rush to get this post up, lol.). Inside The Great Exhale community, we are continuing to encourage each other to go slower, do less, relax, and rest.

Overdrive is overrated. Embrace the beauty of underdrive.
