Rebrand of The Great Exhale™ Featured on Peoples Republik

It’s a great feeling to get your flowers. I’m honored and grateful for this amazing write up about The Great Exhale™’s rebrand by Miky Blak of Peoples Republik!! 🙏🏾😁🎊🙌🏾💃🏾

Any solopreneur will tell you that a personality requirement is that you must be intrinsically motivated. The road is lonely, and there is a lot of behind the scenes work – grinding, to be honest – that few people get to see; that few people have an appreciation of. So as an entrepreneur, you have to be able to stay focused on your goals, and clap for yourself when you need encouragement.

So when somebody claps for you? When someone gets what you’re doing, and why? When someone sees the vision, and understands the strategic thinking that it took to execute it? Golden. So again: I am grateful. 🙏🏾💚🙏🏾

In the ever-evolving world of branding, it’s not just about having a logo or a catchy tagline. It’s about creating a visual identity that resonates with your audience, tells a story, and stands the test of time. The Great Exhale™, a private membership community tailored exclusively for Black women, has done just that with their recent unveiling of a fresh and evocative brand identity.

The Great Exhale’s new logo is not just a design; it’s a narrative. The bespoke Exhale typeface, combined with a soothing palette of green hues, encapsulates the essence of the brand. The dark-to-light gradient in the word mark is a visual masterpiece, symbolizing the very act of exhaling, of letting go, and of finding peace. The choice of brown as a brand color is both poignant and purposeful. It’s a nod to the melanin-rich community the company serves, evoking feelings of warmth, comfort, and a deep-rooted connection to the earth.

The brains behind this transformative rebrand include Lisa Hurley, the Founder of The Great Exhale™, Latrice Torres, the Executive Director, and the talented Rose Reynolds, Creative Director of Rose Reynolds & Co. Their collective vision was to craft a brand identity that would not only resonate with their community but also stand as a beacon of modern yet timeless design. Lisa Hurley’s vision was clear: to evolve The Great Exhale in a manner that would foster a deep connection with the community. The brand’s core message is about taking a pause from the relentless hustle of life. This ethos is beautifully encapsulated in their brand mark—an “e” underscored by an ellipsis, symbolizing a pause, a moment to breathe.

Rose Reynolds, the creative genius behind the logo, approached the design with a clear intent—to convey calmness and softness. Every curve of each letter, the unique inclusion of the ellipsis in the brand mark, and the choice of a gradient all serve a purpose. The gradient, in particular, subtly reinforces the act of exhaling, creating a sense of calm and tranquility.

But The Great Exhale™’s rebranding journey doesn’t stop at the logo. They’ve expanded their digital footprint with a revamped website, an Instagram account, a blog, and an online store. Each of these platforms reflects the brand’s modernized look, offering multiple touchpoints for community members and partners to engage and connect.

Founded by Lisa Hurley, The Great Exhale™ is more than just a membership community. It’s a sanctuary for Black women worldwide, a place where they can come together, share their stories, and find solace. From divesting from overwork to liberating themselves from societal pressures, The Great Exhale™ offers Black women a platform to live a softer, more fulfilled life.

The Great Exhale™’s new brand identity is a testament to the power of thoughtful design. It’s not just about aesthetics; it’s about crafting a narrative, telling a story, and creating a lasting impact. As the brand continues to grow and evolve, one thing is clear: The Great Exhale™ is here to make a mark, and it’s a mark that’s set to last.Find out more about The Great Exhale™ and their transformative journey on their website and other social media platforms.
