Live Life In Underdrive

By: Lisa Hurley

Overdrive is overrated. It often leaves one stressed, overwhelmed, and exhausted. Why would you want that for yourself? Why would you do that to yourself? Why would we let these companies harm us with false emergencies and unnecessary "face time"?

There has got to be a better way.

So as for me and my house, for the rest of the year, I'm not going into overdrive, I'm going into UNDERdrive. For Q4 and beyond, the goal is to do less. Cause "less" is probably still quite a lot. And I am – we all are – deserving of rest.

I invite you to take a look at your calendar/to do list, and see how many things you can just...not do.

🙏🏾What seems important but really isn't?

🙏🏾 What can you completely decline?

🙏🏾 What can you outsource?

What do you want the rest of your year to feel like? Hectic and frenetic, or happy and peaceful?

How do YOU want to feel? Stressed and dysregulated, or relaxed and rested?

What do you want to experience? Breath held from anxiety and shoulders tight with tension? Or relaxed muscles and a easy breathing?

Take a moment today and ponder these questions. Turn your attention inward and see what your mind and body are telling you. Then decide whether or not you're going to listen.

We should not be wearing our shoulders as earrings. We deserve to relax and exhale.

If you're a Black woman, I happen to know a space where relaxation and exhalation are encouraged. 🙏🏾😊💚 Join us in The Great Exhale™ community today.

Let's embrace the beauty of underdrive together.

P.S. "No" is a full sentence. Say no to others so you can say yes to yourself. Asé 🙏🏾💚
